Today hurts in a way that’s hard to put into words. Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory is gone. New Found Glory got me through so many different years of my life. Different versions of me. Different heartbreaks, different friendships, different struggles, different moments where I honestly didn’t know what came next. Their songs were there when I needed to scream, when I needed to laugh, when I needed to remember who I was, and when I just needed to feel like somebody else understood. That’s the incredible thing about music. The people who make it may never know just how deeply their work reaches into someone else’s life. Chad’s guitar, songwriting, and everything he poured into New Found Glory helped create memories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. So thank you, Chad. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for being part of so many chapters of my life. The songs will keep playing. The memories will keep living. Rest easy, Chad. 🖤

@nextjennlife We saw New Found Glory live in October 2021. At the time, none of us knew that just a couple of months later, Chad Gilbert’s life would change completely with a cancer diagnosis. Looking back at this video now feels different. There he was onstage, doing what he loved, giving everything to the music and the fans in front of him — with no idea what was waiting around the corner. And through everything that followed — cancer, surgeries, treatments, setbacks, and some incredibly difficult years — he kept finding his way back to the music, the stage, and the people who loved him. That kind of strength stays with you. Not because he was untouched by what he went through, but because he kept showing up for what mattered to him for as long as he could. His music became part of so many people’s lives. His passion created memories people will carry forever. And I’m incredibly grateful that one of those memories is ours. Rest peacefully, Chad.
